Our “Game of Life” Financial Reality Fair gives high school students a practical, interactive introduction to managing money in the real world. Based on lessons from the FDIC’s Money Smart initiative, the event helps students build confidence in their financial decisions and better understand how money works in everyday life. At the fair, students will:

• Experience real-world simulations like budgeting, paying bills, renting an apartment, and making savings or credit decisions.

• Learn about essential financial tools such as checking and savings accounts, credit, interest, and loans.

• Explore how everyday choices—spending, saving, borrowing—impact long-term financial health.

• Hear from financial professionals and receive guidance to help set goals for their financial future.

The goal of this new event is to empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed money decisions, avoid pitfalls, and confidently manage their finances as they plan for their future.
