MARKETING & PROJECT ASSISTANT

Develop Tioga is currently recruiting for a Marketing & Project Assistant. This position is responsible for supporting key community and economic development initiatives, programs, and events to benefit the businesses and communities of Tioga County, PA. This position will involve marketing, outreach, and awareness efforts involving businesses and the general public.

This position will utilize a creative, data-driven approach to produce and utilize marketing and resource materials.  Responsibilities will assist in planning, development, presentation, and updating of marketing and promotional items for a variety of programs and initiatives including:

 

  • Business attraction, promotion, retention, and expansion. 

  • Entrepreneurial and professional development training and resources.

  • Talent and remote worker attraction.

  • Workforce development.

  • Tioga County Jobs Board.

  • Buy Local / Support Local.

  • Discover Tioga Mobile App.

  • Site promotion.

  • Business and community resources and services.

  • Business and community need assessments.

  • Tioga County Leadership Program.

  • Tioga County Foundation programs and initiatives.

  • Outreach and training events.

To excel in this role, you will: enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate strong marketing and computer skills; have excellent knowledge of social media, website and event best practices; and be comfortable working with a variety of individuals and organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Marketing and outreach activities including in-person, print, e-updates, mobile applications, social media and websites.

  • Assist with development and implementation of an annual marketing plan and annual report.

  • Research, draft, and post engaging social media content.

  • Track, review, and analyze marketing, social media and website data.

  • Assist with ensuring website provides informative, current, engaging information and resources.

  • Assist with planning and coordination of events.

  • Respond to inquiries and ensure that all visitors, callers, and online inquiries are greeted professionally and assisted appropriately.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.

  • 2+ years of professional experience in social media or digital marketing roles with proven ability to drive measurable growth.

  • Excellent judgment on tone and appropriateness of content.

  • Execute professional responsibilities with sound judgement, sensitivity to the needs of others, emotional maturity, integrity, and accountability.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong networking skills.

  • Proficient in various computer programs, on-line and social media platforms.

  • Vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance.

Business & Community Resource Specialist

The Business & Community Development Specialist will assist with the creation and expansion of small businesses, and community enhancements in Tioga County. This position will serve as a key connection to resources, including grants and loans and other key information to assist businesses, communities and individuals.
 

To excel in this role, you will: enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate strong business and finance planning skills; have excellent research skills; and be comfortable working with a variety of individuals and organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Grant and loan program database and file maintenance.

  • Eligibility verification determination of applicants.

  • Preparation of application review packages.

  • Conduct required monitoring activities.

  • Grant and financing resource research.

  • Small business and community resource research.

  • Business and community outreach activities, including visits.

  • Assist with referrals and connections to resources.

  • Conduct business development resource meetings.

  • Attendance at business, community and planning meetings, as needed. (May involve occasional evening meetings.)

  • Other activities as required.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. (Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.)

  • Economic development and commercial banking experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of business and financial plan writing.

  • Previous successful business planning, and grant and loan experience is highly desired.

  • Experience in social media or digital marketing roles.

  • Excellent judgment on tone and appropriateness of content.

  • Execute professional responsibilities with sound judgement, sensitivity to the needs of others, emotional maturity, integrity, and accountability.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in various computer programs and on-line applications for business, marketing, financing, loan packaging, required.

  • Vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance.
