Grants Awarded to Tioga County Businesses
 

The Tioga County Commissioners are pleased to announce that $450,000 in grants has been awarded to eligible Tioga County hospitality industry businesses through the COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP). 

Tioga County partnered with Develop Tioga, a Certified Economic Development Organization,
to administer the program.
 

The intent of the grants was to assist qualifying hospitality businesses with financial relief for business disruptions and expenses incurred due to COVID-19.

Funding Available Though Act 1 of 2021 (SB 109)

 

This program was made available through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under Act 1 of 2021 (SB 109). The Act requires counties to establish a grant program for eligible businesses within the hospitality industry adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pennsylvania counties were able to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to receive funds to offer the program.

 

Grant Amounts

Grant funds were awarded to eligible and approved applicants. The minimum grant for eligible businesses was $5,000 and the maximum grant award for Tioga County businesses was $30,000.
 

NOTE: Priority for CHIRP Funding was given to businesses that had not received previous COVID-19 funding grants.
